Retila & Water Horse

In the early hours of the morning a faint figure could be made out by the glow of the rising sun. The figure was a lone mare that looked to be heavily pregnant. She stood facing the ocean on a white sandy shore with tears in her eyes. The soft waves would wash up against her frail body as she stood there, waiting. The mare was in noticeable pain and she was freezing from the chilly morning breeze. Although she was in such a fragile state the mare wouldn’t move, she waited there until the frightening time came. The pain would come in strong burst; you could see the struggle in her emerald eyes. The dull flashy glow of those green eyes would break open the most strong hearted of people. She was finally giving birth. Pain filled her face as her knees gave way to the throbbing pain in her belly, she was terrified. Laying her face on the soft velvet sand clam the mare for the slightest of seconds, she thought of nothing else, freed her mind of anything and everything. Small shoots of pain tickled her legs as she stretched them out to the waves. The cool water relived the mare as she began to relax. The rest was a flash, a blur. The mare then stood, her legs were noticeably weak from the great energy loss. She looked to her bright black foal limp in the water. The soft waves stirred the little body back and forth as it lye motionless. The mare nuzzled the foals soft, sweet face. Still nothing. She tried again with slightly more force and the blue eyes of the delicate foal began to open. Looking down at her newborn foal the mare was clearly distressed. Water then consumed the foal; the silver liquid covered the tiny body until nothing was visible. When the water had calmed a creature was left. The haunting quote was clearly heard coming from the mares lips “Please, not again.”

These are new characters that many of you will be seeing more of. Retila is the poor paint mare that foals elemental babies. She dose end up foaling 3 foals with one before this water element. After the third foal Retila ends up killing herself to prevent any more of her young becoming what she called monsters. Every foal was abandoned by Retila as she feared her herd would banish her or worse, kill her. She believed her actions where the right thing and never thought twice about those horrid decisions.

Also, I need a name for this foal. Any suggestion is taken

Inspired
I was really bored and was working on a piece with just a paint horse. It then morphed into a story I had thought up.
